Familiar Sights in an Unfamiliar City
Pictures of Brunei on the second night of my trip. Somehow, for a split second, I felt as though I was home.
Pictures of Day One can be found here.

Images from KL to Brunei
As I zoomed on the ERL, this building caught my eye. There still people busy mending the trees for the upcoming OIC Conference this month.
(Above right) I lament this sign. Everytime I looked at it, I had nicotine withdrawals.
(Below left) This is the new bridge that gets us to the Sg Tujuh Immigration. Otherwise we would have to take a ferry across. I would definitely have missed the 10 o'clock timeline if it was not for this bridge. I paid the cab driver Brunei $50 to drive really fast and told him if he missed the last check in time, he woulkd have to drive me back to Miri for free.
Boy was he fast.
On the bottom right is the first Bruneian "mapleh" for me. Looks the same as in Malaysia and they are all hooked on astro too!
There I was introduced to "Nasi Ketuk" which is really Nasi Lemak. The name is slightly different here because of how people used to buy it, where they would go to someone's house and knock ("ketuk") on proprietor's door to buy the Nasi.
Thanks to Raimy and Ghani (who picked me up on the other side of Sg Tujuh) for a gracious welcome dinner.
